On 15 September 2026 Meta started rolling out Meta One, a paid subscription for businesses across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, in four tiers from $14.99 to $499 a month per profile. Ads Manager, the ad accounts and the core tools stay free. What you are paying for is a bundle of verification, organic reach features, insights and AI messaging capacity. Here is what is in each plan and where we think the money is worth it for a business that runs paid ads.
What Meta announced
The details below come from Meta's own announcement. Plans are priced per profile, so one plan covers one account, and Meta says features, pricing and availability "may vary by region, by app, and by account". Meta Verified is being folded into Meta One; current Verified subscribers keep what they have until a migration is offered.
| Plan | Price (per profile, per month) | Headline inclusions |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | $14.99 | Verified badge and impersonation protection, more Meta Business Agent responses on WhatsApp, verified WhatsApp channel |
| Advanced | $49.99 | Everything in Essential plus links in organic posts and Reels, scheduling stories up to 30 days ahead, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights, team access without password sharing |
| Expert | $149 | Higher limits on the above, human account support |
| Max | $499 | Top limits, Business Agent capacity for teams managing at scale |
The features Meta highlights:
- Competitive Insights (Instagram): compare your organic performance with up to ten public accounts at a time, using public metrics such as follower growth and posting volume.
- Extended Insights History (Instagram): see and export content and audience data beyond 90 days.
- Custom Audience Insights (Facebook): extra detail on people who engage with your content but don't follow you.
- Content scheduling across Facebook and Instagram, with best-time recommendations, posts up to a year ahead and bulk upload on instagram.com.
- Links in posts and Reels, a shareable Instagram link page, a bolder follow button on Facebook Reels, a verified broadcast channel and a custom web link on WhatsApp Business.
- Meta Business Agent, the AI that answers customer messages on WhatsApp. It is free to start; the plans add more monthly responses.
What this does not change
Nothing in Ads Manager is behind the paywall. Campaign objectives, Advantage+ products, the Pixel, the Conversions API and your ad accounts are unaffected. If your Meta activity is mostly paid, you can ignore Meta One entirely and lose nothing on the advertising side.
Where it is worth paying, if you advertise
Verification is now the cheapest ticket. The Essential plan is effectively the old Meta Verified for business with WhatsApp extras. For brands that get impersonated, or that run ads where a blue tick visibly lifts trust (clinics, finance, anything with a high-ticket enquiry), $14.99 is easy to justify.
Links in organic posts and Reels are the sleeper feature. Until now the only way to put a clickable link in an Instagram post was to pay for an ad. At the Advanced tier you can post organically with a link to an offer, a menu or a booking page. For restaurants, clinics and retailers that post daily, that is worth testing against what you currently spend boosting posts just to get a link.
Extended insights help with creative decisions. Ninety days of history is not enough to see seasonality. If you use organic performance to decide which content to turn into ads, the longer export is useful. It is not, on its own, worth $49.99 a month.
The AI messaging agent is the one to be careful with. More Business Agent responses sound attractive for WhatsApp-heavy businesses, but an AI answering your customers' questions about prices, bookings and complaints needs training and supervision. Test it on a quiet account before paying for capacity.
What we would skip
Competitive Insights compares organic metrics only. It tells you nothing about what competitors are spending or which of their ads are working; the Meta Ad Library still does that for free. And unless you manage many profiles with a team, the Expert and Max tiers are priced for agencies and large brands, not for a business with one Instagram account.
Our take
Meta One is Meta charging for things it used to give away or bundle into ads: links, scheduling, insights, verification. For most advertisers the right move is the Essential plan if trust matters in your category, the Advanced plan if you post a lot and want links without paying for ads, and nothing at all if your Meta presence is purely paid. Whatever you pick, keep an eye on the organic link cap that arrived alongside it. Meta's help centre now says that, where the limit applies, a Facebook Page can include links in only two organic posts or comments a month for free; Advanced raises that to eight, Expert to twenty and Max removes the cap. Links in ads do not count, which is rather the point.
If you want help working out whether a plan pays for itself against your current boosted-post spend, we'll look at the numbers as part of a free audit.
